Lana Del Rey Weighs In On Trump

She is the 2013 winner of an Xbox Entertainment Award, so, she’s clearly qualified to muse at length on American politics.

Once, Lana Del Rey, who grew up in Lake Placid, New York (home of the immortal phrase, “Do you believe in miracles?”), was known for songs that romanticized America. Of course, that’s easy to do in the land of the free, where dreams can come true if you work hard.

But the singer is losing her faith in her home country, even though her new album is titled “Lust For Life.”

In one song, “When the World Was at War We Kept Dancing,” she sings: “Is it the end of an era? Is it the end of America?” Oh, so artistic!

She explained the song this way in an interview with Pitchfork:

Is it harder to be romantic about America when Trump is the nation’s biggest celebrity?

It’s certainly uncomfortable. I definitely changed my visuals on my tour videos. I’m not going to have the American flag waving while I’m singing “Born to Die.” It’s not going to happen. I’d rather have static. It’s a transitional period, and I’m super aware of that. I think it would be inappropriate to be in France with an American flag. It would feel weird to me now — it didn’t feel weird in 2013.

All the guys in the studio — we didn’t know we were going to start walking in every day and talking about what was going on. We hadn’t ever done that before, but everyday during the election, you’d wake up and some new horrible thing was happening. Korea, with missiles suddenly being pointed at the western coast. With “When the World Was at War We Kept Dancing,” I was posing a real question to myself: Could this be the end of an era? The fall of Rome?

look at how she holds her cigaret looks more like she is smoking a joint , i have faith in my country , no faith in the people running it , but at my age i won’t be around long enough to watch what really happens

Winning a entertainment award makes her a expert on political views? Give me a break. How gullible do these Liberals think we are? I could careless if she hates Trump or not. The entertainers loved Hillary, but thank God she is not our President. We should never elect a proven criminal liar as our President. Hillary made it quite clear she does not care about laws and following them. The government double standard when it comes to justice is a insult to all Americans, even the Political Correct Americans.

“A Hollywood actor is an entertainer; so is an organ grinder’s monkey. Do you really believe I care about what an organ grinder’s monkey, OR a Hollywood actor, ‘thinks’ about politics?”

Danny, unfortunately, the quality of being in the entertainment industry is one she shares with our president. Many wish he had more political experience and knowledge, but he has said “I’m, like, smart” and the country has chosen him as it’s leader.

Just another Hollywood shit head with shit for brains. How soon they forget they could not have made it to where they are if it were not for this country and those who fight for us to keep it. Go to France and stay there you piece of shit.

“I wonder if all these Hollywood celebrities are more upset about Trump winning the election, or finding out that people don’t actually give a shit about their opinions.”
–Mike Rowe, Distinguished Eagle Scout Awardee and star of Discovery Channel’s ‘Dirty Jobs’ and ‘Deadliest Catch’, host/narrator of National Geographic’s ‘How the Universe Works’ and spokesman for Ford Motor Company

Another know-it-all celebrity. She can join the ranks of all the other know-it-alls of the Hollywood left, who are just legends in their own mind and the minds of their elitist peers. Their only job is to entertain. We spend our hard earned money to listen to their music or watch them pretend to be characters in movies or on TV.

When they portray a character they sound so intelligent and intellectual. That is because they are speaking from a prepared script that they memorized. There haven’t been too many, in my opinion, who sound just as intelligent off screen. They are nothing more than puppets, so I really don’t care what they think about any issue. Their personal opinions mean nothing to me. I would rather they would just sing, dance or act. Other than that I wish they would just shut up.

I usually wait until a movie comes out in DVD. That way I don’t have to pay those outrageous prices at the theater. The cost to rent the movie along with the cost of providing your own snacks and drinks, in most cases, is less than the cost of a theater ticket.

LOL!! Can’t remember the last time I went to a movie–don’t think I’ll live long enough to ‘want’ to in the future!! They can’t even make a movie worth going to anymore, let alone actually ‘pay’ to see!

  • I do not believe anyone else that was up for election would be doing any better than Trump, Trump is getting some things done even though he has ALL of the democrats against him and most of the Republicans are afraid or are just Republicans in name only. I still think what I though before the election — We need someone that can stand up against all odds and I think this would be good for 8 years but after that we need a more totally constitutional based person. At this point the all of the more constitutional based persons I have seen out there do not have the courage or endurance to last what is against them, Trump is trying to do what he promised but it is not doable for him to do alone. This is good as it is the way the constitution is set up, although I do not think it was ever envisioned by the forefathers that the citizens would let things get this far out of hand. When you-all get upset with him just think how it would feel to be him with everyone against you except the normal Joe and Nancy. If you think about it just about the only people he can really associate with is congress (negative and more negative), Media (total negative lairs), Hollywood (group of wasted negative persons). So all he has if family which may not always agree with him and are being targeted like him because of him, which family has never been targeted by the other side specially the children of the president. I do not agree with everything he does or says but my hat is off to him. Lena Del Rey could not hold a candle to what he puts up with so Lena get over your little girl attitude.

You are correct. If she had to put up with what Trump does everyday, she’d be under her bed looking for cover. Another gutless, brainless liberal entertainer!

teapartyjournal.com Wow! Headlines made. ‘Lana Del Rey weighs in on Trump’
Who knew that I could have spent 10 minutes of my very valuable time trying to find one iota of information that makes what this person has to say about OUR POTUS Donald J. Trump, relevant in our every day lives. It is mentioned in the report that she did win some type of award in 2013 which must have been a magnificent accomplishment. When I first read the headline, I imagined she might have been responsible for finding a cure for some debilitating/deadly disease or single handedly brought about World Peace. Lo and behold, all I think I now know for certain is that she is yet another “supposed entertainer” with the ability to influence our every day lives and the politics involved. Sorry, but I just find this kind of BS stuff to be an insult to all of us that are out here every day trying to manage our lives after the 8 years of Obama’s dictatorship. He definitely wanted to destroy America, a country that by his own admission, he hates. Maybe I don’t recall Ms. Del Rey’s major contributions to America, which would garner this ‘Headline” story because I was just not attentive to the important things in life. I admit I was distracted, having to deal with the loss of our business, home, vehicles, life-time savings/retirement, while trying to save my husbands life. This was, I’m sure, no big deal as compared to a performers accomplishments, but it was very devastating for me and my family when we learned that Obamacare mandates and regulations did not allow for care, based on a risk score assigned by the HHS Secretary. The patient, the team of doctors or any family member was ever consulted in the decisions as to whether this businessman, husband, father and grandfather deserved the opportunity to recover from what they identified as an illness which leaves one classified as a ‘Non-productive citizen’. I imagine some people will find my comments as bitter and mean, but honestly, I must admit that I am way past bitter. We worked hard, made the same sacrifices that so many other business owners have done in order to be good, contributing citizens to America and what this country had to offer. Then, with the passage of the ACA by politicians who never read the bill and are exempt from the mandates and regulations of Obamacare, we found ourselves suddenly becoming homeless and penniless, even though we had our health insurance coverage through our companies insurance plan. I know this does not even begin to compare to the 3 seconds of fame Ms. Del Rey achieved, but as I mentioned, I am still a little bitter over what qualifies these days as a printable news or entertainment story.
