US to Majorly Reduce Funding to the UN

Our US Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, recently announced the U.S. plan to significantly reduce it’s contribution to the U.N. yearly budget by 285 million dollars.

Haley stated:

Today, the United Nations agreed on a budget for the 2018-2019 fiscal year. ‎Among a host of other successes, the United States negotiated a reduction of over $285 million off the 2016-2017 final budget. In addition to these significant cost savings, we reduced the UN’s bloated management and support functions, bolstered support for key U.S. priorities throughout the world, and instilled more discipline and accountability throughout the UN system.

“The inefficiency and overspending of the United Nations are well known. We will no longer let the generosity of the American people be taken advantage of or remain unchecked. This historic reduction in spending – in addition to many other moves toward a more efficient and accountable UN – is a big step in the right direction. While we are pleased with the results of this year’s budget negotiations, you can be sure we’ll continue to look at ways to increase the UN’s efficiency‎ while protecting our interests,” said Ambassador Haley.

This is excellent and most welcomed news. Finally a POTUS who possesses the character, will and backbone required to deliver to the world [in no uncertain terms], the United States is back. No longer will America turn her other cheek while being disrespected. The gloves are off, America will defend her allies, while putting her enemies on notice. MAGA

If the people hostile to the United States including the progressive, socialist democrats in this country are opposed to it then you can rest assured whatever it is it is in the best interest of America.

Trying to buy loyalty from people who are envious and jealous of our nation success don’t need our money

    • DonRS

“Envious and Jealous”, are you serious? The majority of nations in the UN are Muslim nations that want to KILL US!

      • Al

Why do we give them funds anyway? “Death to America!! ” They want us dead and we help them. Chee!!

  • Dianna Zerbe

United Nations should be put out of New York. United States should completely stop giving any monies to the United Nations. We have people here in America that need help. You take care of your family first. Then you take care of your friends.

The UN has been a joke for 50 years. Yet, no American leader had the backbone to reject the meaninglessness of the UN, the extravagant spending of the ambassadors to the UN, and the consistent anti-American positions taken by the majority.

We are very, very lucky to have elected Trump!

DRAIN THE SWAMPS – the UN AMONG THEM!

Pres. Trump now and in 2020.

The $285 million being cut is a drop in the bucket. The US contributes well over $6 Billion annually to the UN and its various satellite agencies. While I’m glad that the Trump administration has cut the spending as much as they have, there is much more that can be cut.

Indeed and those $285 mill had already been agreed to and planned. It was not in reaction to the Israel vote.

    • john

No we do not ! We do give too much but get your facts right !

      • Epeefencer

Yes we do, it’s an easy look up on the web.

  • Estell Newton

We just need out of the UN and the UN out of our country.

  • J.B. Young

We need to cut all money to the UN.

  • AC1USNRetired

If it was a serious effort, we’d pay in 1-190th of the UN budget

  • Robert Earl

This reduction in funding is in reprisal to the U N General Assembly’s vote condemning us for announcing our intention to move our Israeli embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Apparently the UN thinks they can control where we place our embassy. Kudos to Nikki Haley for the way she handled the situation.

  • Alan404

How about ELIMINATING tax payer funding for this useless mob.

  • theicecube

Reduce it by, heck, reduce it to. Then watch them cry when we use the savings on our infrastructure. instead.

  • SZ939

Trump should kick the UN out of New York and turn the building into a Trump Hotel! NO MONEY for this POS Organization that has totally destroyed the opportunity granted it after WW2.

  • Major Mike

We can easily pay for the wall and contribute to infrastructure spending by reducing UN funding and cutting off aide to nations that don’t share our values.
